How can I check the eTA status?
You can check the status of the eTA after the application has been completed.
First, access Check eTA status tool.
The status of the eTA has three main patterns.
First, let's explain the cases where travel authorization permission is approved.
If you jump to the link page, look for Check eTA status tool and click.
When travel authorization is "Approved"
Since there is information necessary for input in the e-mail from the Government to Canada, enter the items with reference from government message and the following image.
Since you can check the status of application by entering it as described above, you can check it offline by printing it in PDF or writing.
* In rare cases, there are things that can not be referenced at the Canadian government's site, but there are times when you can not refer to by mistake in application information (date of birth or expiration date of passport / issue date).
In this case, if you apply again and make a note of the item to be entered on the eTA confirmation page, you will not mistake. Let's enter V number and J number (hold number and travel authorization number) without mistake.
When travel authorization is "In Progress"
Also, since there is information necessary for entering in the e-mail from the Canadian government, enter the items with reference to the government's mail and the following image.
Since it is written about the reason why it is on hold in the red frame below, I will proceed according to the instructions on the confirmation page.
Since the eTA number itself is linked to the passport, it is not necessary to print out. But, if you are not sure until the immigration review let's print it.
"Nothing Information"
In the case that we have finished applying for eTA or just submitted application, we can not refer to it on the status confirmation screen.
In this case, let's check whether the information entered at the time of application is wrong.
The part written as "No matches were found using using criteria provided." At the bottom of the image is displayed when there is no applicable application.
Also, if you check immediately after submitting the application form around May 2017 (when checking the status immediately after applying for eTA) that the Canadian government's eTA system and the confirmation system are not well connected It was rare.
The following phenomena rarely occur.
Example 1:
Applicant ① submits the application form and confirms on the status screen.
The applicant's eTA has been given a V number (reserved number), after which the J number (travel authorization number) was linked to the passport.
Example 2:
The applicant ② submits the application form and confirms it on the status screen.
The applicant's V number (reserved number) can not be referenced on the status confirmation screen, and I reviewed whether the information is wrong, but there was no part where it was wrong.
I contacted the Canadian Immigration Office (IRCC) and a V number was issued 5 days later.
The next day when the V number was issued, the government requested additional information and the guide arrived after uploading additional materials.
There are rare things like Example 2 above.
When applying for Canada eTA, please make sure to apply after checking application requirements.
This concludes the eTA confirmation method.
